Covid-19 Vaccine Programme

As the coronavirus vaccine programme is building momentum and several employees have already received their first dose, we are writing to you to set out our stance on the vaccine as it affects you, as our employee.

We have carefully followed the Government’s sector specific guidance on making our workplace, and our working arrangements, COVID secure to offer protection to our employees and this has resulted in several significant adjustments. We are required, under health and safety legislation, to take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our workforce at work; we view the vaccine as the next step in providing this in relation to coronavirus.

Therefore, whilst we encourage you to take the opportunity to have the coronavirus vaccine when it is offered to you, this remains an individual choice and will be respected by the Company.

When contacted and an appointment arranged, you should notify your Manager in the normal manner for any time off to attend a doctor’s appointment. Vaccine appointments are to be treated in the same way as other medical appointments so, where possible, you should attempt to secure an appointment outside of your normal working hours, or as close to the start or the end of the working day as possible. You are required to make up time taken off work to get the vaccine, as agreed with your manager.

Once you have your first vaccine, you will be provided with an appointment card confirming the vaccine date. I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy of this so I can update your records to or text a photo of the card to 07964 904 473.

This information will be treated in the strictest confidence in accordance with our GDPR policy and will only be used to communicate the percentage of employees who have received the vaccine. This we hope will provide a level of confidence to employees and the Company alike and enable us to consider relaxing, where possible and when the time is right, some of the Covid-secure rules and procedures in place.
